The girl has got a name

A boat update you ask??? Well it's still in my backyard and a little while off being dragged down the road and thrown off the cliff into the sea but some of the more important aspects of the restoration have been finalised. The girl has got a name. After much public debate and following the engagement of a public relations firm and coked up advertising wonderkids the choice was narrowed to one standout entry: ladies and gentlemen may I introduce the "WAVE PONY". A design competition has just been opened for the corporate badging and logo so please feel free to send your entries through. (The first entry above was snapped in a lane way at the back of Brunswick Street in Melbourne recently, showning the Wave Pony and friends in flight)

Matt and I had a sanding session the other weekend, if anything she looks a little bit whiter now but not any seaworthier (yes that is a word from now on). It shames me to say that for a moment there we had second thoughts......we started to entertain the idea of cutting our losses with the Wave Pony and instead opt for a slicker, more complete and possibly water tight boat that was ready to hit the water. But I haven't been able to fill my shed with half completed projects by bailing on them before I have even started.....that comes much later and after I have invested significant amounts of time and money for no real return. So I am proud to declare that Matt and I have made a pact to continue with the planned re-floating of the Wave Pony!!!

May the dream (and saga) continue........

Hi Damian
Good to see the project continuing..I tried to paste in a my little pony picture but it didn't work so I'll leave it to your imagination - it's called Wave Runner (close enough) and is pink/blue with a whole mermaid thing going on. You can look it up if you are brave enough to dive into the world of people who post pictures of their toy collections online.
Plus it leads into that old changing room joke - 'that fella's hung like a horse...pity it's a my little pony'
Anyhow Croydon is still fine - going to grand final on Sat morning (5am) but because the purple dream is over will be cheer cheering the red and the white and discussing comments such as 'why don't you go for a west australian team?' from people in brand new eagles scarves.
Have fun
Andrew

glad to hear you're sticking with it, damian. although it does make for a better, more dramatic ocean saga when the odds of success are as slim as they seem to be and you constantly struggle with the decision of whether or not to give up and move on.

i can't wait for more.
